There I was staring out the window on this last day of my four-day weekend thinking how dreary and gray it is outside in the Chicagoland, when there came a rumbly in my tumbly.
Wouldn't you know at just about that same moment, I pull up my iTunes and my pal Lou Mongello had posted a new video featuring none other than one of my favorite spots for lunch when I'm at Walt Disney World, the Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe.
For those who don't know, Pecos Bill's is right on the corner of Frontierland just before you reach Splash Mountain. You couldn't miss it even with your eyes shut. Just follow your nose. And the listen for a crowd because it's often packed, and with good reason.
Some might be saying "but it's just another burger joint." Not so, evil doers! Okay, so maybe burgers are the stars of this hoe down, but fortunately they're good burgers. More importantly, as Lou points out, this place is chock-full of little details and Disney extras for the sharp eye.
And let's not forget the topping bar, where you can pile a mountain of grilled onions atop your 1/3rd lb Angus Cheeseburger with bacon!!!
Posting this was a terrible idea. I don't know what's watering more. My mouth, or my eyes because I'm not there right now!!! Just thinking about that burger makes me hear Lionel Ritchie's Hello as tears stream down my cheeks . . .
Oh . . . ahem . . .I, uh . . . sorry, anyway . . .
For a taste of Pecos Bill's, with Lou's permission, I wanted to share this video with you all . . .
Thanks Lou for making my day (and for making me really hungry!)
Please everybody who doesn't know Lou's work (yes, both of you out there) head over to www.wdwradio.com
Subscribe to his podcast, "The WDW Radio Show" on iTunes (and take time to dig back in the archives, there's great stuff there.)
Now excuse me while I go heat up a Lean Cuisine . . . FAIL!
